Reno Rodeo: Having its origin in 1919 as the "Nevada Round-Up," this annual PRCA rodeo is held every June in the outdoor arena on the grounds of the Livestock Events Center in Reno, Nevada. With the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains as a backdrop, the Reno Rodeo is one of the top five rodeos and has one of the largest pay outs of any rodeo in the United States. Milano Hat Company is proud to be associated with this truly unique rodeo and all the people of Reno that work so hard every year to put it together. One of the highlights of the Rodeo is the annual golf tournament, which we also sponsor. That's only natural since our founder, John Milano, was instrumental in putting the first one together back in 1970. The BFI provides 100 roping teams the opportunity to compete for the most lucrative payoff in a one day roping and gives 5000 spectators a fast paced day of top caliber team roping. The 1999 entrants hailed from seventeen states on one Canadian province. The 1998 total payout exceeded $300,000.00 in cash and awards, with the First Place team winning $50,000.00 cash and over $40,000.00 in awards Calf Scramble participants are not typical students. In addition to their responsibilities at home and school, they take on the additional tasks of purchasing, caring for and showing a calf. Each participant submits written reports to his or her sponsor during the year, reporting on their efforts and the calf's progress. The Fort Worth Stock Show Calf Scramble awarded over $30,000.00 in scholarships this year.
