In addition to the marketing we are currently doing, The Milano Hat Company, recognizing that the power of the Internet is growing at an exponential rate, is embarking on a new marketing direction. This new direction is having our fully branded web site end consumer oriented. Our web site is search engine optimized for each brand we currently have. This will allow someone looking for a particular type of The Milano Hat Company product to locate our branded site quickly.
The entire focus of our web site is to drive end consumer traffic to your store looking to buy a Milano Hat Company product that you currently stock. This “Dealer Locator” button will be a prominent part of every page on all of these websites and the customer will enter their zip code & a list of dealers will be displayed on a map with the customers’ zip code being in the middle. On this “Dealer Locator” web page there will also be a section for online retailers and the same link requirements below will apply.
Please note:
A - If you do not have a web site then the Internet portion of this policy will not apply to you. If you later have a web site created, then this policy will be in force. Even if you only have an informational web site, you will still need to have a Milano Hat Company only "landing page" to get linked from our site. This means only Milano Hat products will be on this "Landing Page."
B – In this document the term “Dealer Locator” means a web page that will allow a customer to choose a brick & mortar store, an online store or both that will be specific to the brand the customer is interested in.
C - In order for your store to listed in this “Dealer Locator” we require you to follow some guidelines, these apply equally for a brick and mortar stores and online retailers:
1 - All links from the The Milano Hat Company web site, or any of the Dorfman Pacific branded web sites, must land at a Milano Hat Company Brand specific web page Justin or Larry Mahan or any of the Dorfman Pacific brands. It will be up to you to generate these Milano Hat Company only web pages and supply The Milano Hat Company with the correct link for us to use in the dealer locator of the The Milano Hat Company brands you sell.
Example: If you are one of our Larry Mahan dealers, you will be a part of our “Dealer Locator” found on every page of our web site. If a customer clicks on your store and then clicks on the web site link the visitor must be delivered to a Larry Mahan hat only page OR a Larry Mahan hat page with our Justin Authentic Western Headwear products also. Only Milano Hat Company or Dorfman Pacific products may be on this page.
This page must not have any imagery, body copy or links to any other products out of the The Milano Hat Company brand family. This “Milano Hat Company only” page may have a link to the retailer’s checkout page, the retailer’s home page, the retailer’s contact page, the retailer’s “about us” page and any other page that will have general information but not linked directly to any competing brands.
If the web site visitor wants to come from the Milano Hat Company branded web site to a retailer’s web site and then goes to the retailer’s home page that is just fine and fair. But the initial “Landing Page” from any of our sites must show The Milano Hat Company products only and not have any link on that page that will show a competitors product. The sole exception to this policy is a link going to the home page that may or may not have a competitor’s product displayed.
2 - To be listed on the “Dealer Locator” web page, you must be a current customer and have bought from us during the last 2 seasons and stock a “reasonable” amount of product. "Reasonable" is a sliding scale based on your store size & past ordering history.
3 – Use of any Milano Hat Company created or supplied photography will be on a case-by-case basis and will be granted in writing. The Milano Hat Company will request the following:
Photos needed by retailer
Usage – Advertising, Internet, postcards, posters, in house promotions etc.
Length of usage
Size of image
NOTE: Copying of images, text, descriptions, page layout from out web site or catalogs is expressly prohibited without prior written permission.
We at The Milano Hat Company want to help you, our customers, make money. This means that virtually every image use that is request will be approved. Unfortunately we have discovered some of our branded imagery being used without our knowledge, without our permission and helping a retailer to sell a competitors product. We at The Milano Hat Company spend serious marketing dollars to drive customers to your stores and we will continue to do so. We want to be sure that we are spending these dollars to benefit you and The Milano Hat Company but not one of our competitors.
We know competition is healthy & we engage in competitive business practices. This policy is one such practice. The policies above are effective immediately and will remain in force until revised in writing. This policy will be posted on the "Dealer Only" section of our www.milanohats.com web site available for your review and any revisions will be posted on the same web site.
